In the spring, fans of summer cottages will have to choose a tomato. Tomato Pearl red - the ideal cherry variety. The fruits are delicious and the plants are attractive. This variety is grown not only in the country, but also in the apartment. Tomatoes are unique from each pure variety. Why are the fruits from the Red Pearl interesting?

Description of the variety

Pearl red - determinant standard hybrid. Features of the variety:

  1. Early ripeness - on average 90 days from planting seedlings to fruiting.
  2. Low stature - height about 35 cm.
  3. Versatility. It can be grown in any conditions - from a greenhouse to open ground, even on a balcony.
  4. Resistant to disease.

Fruit characteristics:

  • shape - round and even;
  • color - bright red;
  • diameter about 3 cm, similar to cherry;
  • two-chamber;
  • 6% dry matter.

The crop is notable for short storage, so long-term transportation is difficult.

Harvesting: perspectives

The Red Pearl variety does not differ in high yield rates. One bush will not yield more than 1.5 kg. Tomatoes with a planting scheme of 4 bushes per 1 sq. m you can get up to 6 kg. However, considering the size of the plant, not everything is so sad.

Advantages and disadvantages

The choice of a variety should be carefully considered. Before that, you should weigh the strengths and weaknesses of tomatoes.

Pros:

  • growing anywhere;
  • rapid maturation;
  • undemanding to lighting;
  • tolerate temperature changes well;
  • disease resistant.

Disadvantages:

  • small fruits;
  • low productivity.

Tomatoes of this variety have no other disadvantages. And then, these are rather features that result from unpretentiousness.

Your tomatoes on the table: growing varieties

No care efforts are required. The bush does not need to be formed by hand, which saves time. Top dressing is carried out with conventional fertilizers. One branch contains up to 20 tomatoes.

Branches sag under the weight of the fruit and can break, so it is advisable to use supports to prevent damage to the plant. From this it follows that after planting, it is enough to wait for the beginning of flowering, then feed the bush a little, and then install spacers for ripening the fruits. This is the whole care technology.

To grow tomatoes on a balcony or in a greenhouse using containers, you need at least 3 liters of soil per bush.

Diseases and insect attack

Diseases and insects do not climb on the bushes of the Red Pearl. The only thing that can cause concern is improper care. Lack of fresh air will kill plants indoors. The same balcony should be regularly ventilated.

Bushes should not experience a lack of moisture either. Lighting is required, albeit in small quantities. If there is no sun at all, you should look for an ultraviolet lamp.

Melon aphids and thrips - these insects can attack tomatoes of this variety. The Zubr medicine will help to cope with them. Bears and slugs are standard pests against which the banal loosening of the soil will help.

Spraying with a homemade preparation will not hurt:

  • a bucket with 10 liters of water;
  • a spoonful of ground pepper, hot or mustard.

Everything is mixed and applied to the bushes. The pests then disappear.
