The modern antifungal agent "Quadris" from the manufacturer "Syngenta" has established itself as an effective drug with low toxicity and long-lasting effect. In the instructions for the use of fungicide "Quadris" for the treatment of grapes, it is recommended to use real and downy mildew for diseases.

Description and mechanism of action

The drug "Quadris" is sold in the form of a suspension concentrate, packaged in containers of 60 ml, 100 ml, 300 ml, 1 l, 5 l. The main active ingredient azoxystrobin is contained in an amount of 250 g / l. Fungicide belongs to the chemical class of strobilurins, as it is an analogue of the natural metabolites of the fungi Strobilurins Oudemansins.

In nature, this fungus lives on the cones of conifers and is able to stop the growth of competing yeast-like and mold fungi around itself. This is possible due to the property of interfering with cellular respiration. Fungal cells stop receiving energy, their growth is disrupted, and sporulation stops, most species die or stop spreading.

By its action, "Quadris" is both systemic and contact. It demonstrates a long-lasting protective effect and the broadest spectrum of action among all known fungicides.

Important... To exclude the development of resistance, it is necessary to alternate the use of "Quadris┬╗With fungicides of a different principle of action.

Instructions for use

The active ingredient of "Quadris", azoxystrobin, is insoluble in water, which must be taken into account when working with a suspension. The opened container and working fluid can be stored within 24 hours.

The working liquid, diluted in the recommended proportion for grapes of 5 ml per 10 liters of water, must be frequently stirred during processing. In agricultural production, special equipped sprayers with agitators are used.

At home:

  1. 5 ml of the suspension is poured into 1 liter of water, the tightly closed spray tank must be shaken vigorously for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Then add the remaining water in a thin stream and repeat the shaking.
  3. During operation, shaking is repeated every 30 minutes.
  4. The sprayer is exposed to the smallest spray in the form of dust.
  5. Consumption rate: each sheet is moistened without dripping onto the ground.
  6. After processing, the tank is washed 3-4 times, shaking vigorously each time. The water is discharged into the sewer.

Grapes are processed in dry, calm weather in the morning or evening.

Safety engineering

The active ingredients of the fungicide "Quadris" belong to the 2nd class of hazard for humans and the 3rd class for bees. Subject to the basic safety rules, the drug can be characterized as safe for the environment and humans:

  1. Do not spray grapes during flowering.
  2. Do not allow droplets of working fluid to fall on the ground. The fungicide is insoluble and does not decompose in water; if it gets into ground water, it can harm animals in nearby water bodies.
  3. Do not use Quadris near water bodies (within a radius of 2 km).
  4. Plant processing should be carried out in a special protective suit and gas mask.
  5. For some plant species, in particular apple trees, even residual microdoses of Quadris can cause the death of the crop and the entire plant. Therefore, it is impossible to use a sprayer after "Quadris" for processing fruit crops.
  6. Do not allow the working fluid to get onto other crops when spraying. Especially the danger arises in windy weather.
  7. Liquid preparation should be carried out in a special room, inaccessible to other people.
  8. Work with plants can be continued 3 days after treatment.

Processing time

The drug is suitable for prophylactic use and in the early stages of the disease. Since, first of all, it stops the growth of fungi and sporulation, and does not lead to complete destruction. The validity period of "Quadris" on grapes is about three weeks. The waiting time for the action of the drug is 2-3 days.

The time is right for processing grapes:

  • before flowering;
  • after flowering;
  • time of immature ovaries;
  • a week before harvest.

Treating the bushes shortly before harvesting will increase the shelf life. Re-processing can be carried out no earlier than 3 weeks later. In one season, it is advisable not to carry out more than two treatments with "Quadris", but to alternate with other fungicides.

Pros and cons of the drug

The modern fungicide "Quadris" successfully fights the pathogens of downy mildew and powdery mildew of grapes in the early stages of the disease. But it has a number of disadvantages that should be considered when choosing this drug.

  1. The active ingredients of the Quadris preparation improve photosynthesis, thereby prolonging the growing season of plants and increasing productivity.
  2. A very wide spectrum of action.
  3. It quickly decomposes into harmless substances after reacting with pathogenic fungi.
  4. If the recommended dosages are observed, it is safe for humans and the environment.

  1. Relatively high cost of the drug.
  2. Requires frequent stirring of the working fluid during processing.
  3. The opened vial with the suspension cannot be stored.
  4. Cannot be used more than twice per season.
  5. Be sure to alternate with fungicides of a different principle of action.
  6. Cannot be used near bodies of water.
  7. A protective suit must be used when handling.
  8. Toxic to apple trees and other fruit crops.

Subject to the rules of application, the fungicide will help to quickly stop the development of fungal diseases of the vine.
